A Few Scenarios
1. Susie Teller tries to download a screensaver from the internet which has
malicious spyware targeting your institution’s ACH cash management system. The
BankOnIT Management Agent not only blocks the download from occurring,
it also notifies management and documents the event. Instead of spending
hours trying to remove the spyware, management spends a few minutes
explaining the risks of downloading unapproved applications to Susie and also
reminds her that it is against company policy to do so.
2. Sam Customer comes in with his laptop. While waiting in the
lobby he decides to check his e-mail by plugging into the CAT-5 connection
behind the magazine table. The BankOnIT Management Agent recognizes
the device as unauthorized, prevents any connection, notifies management,
and documents the incident. Although Sam is unable to check his e-mail, the
financial institution kept Sam and any viruses on his computer from creating a security
incident on its network.
3. Larry Lender decides to download copies of financial files onto his USB
thumb-drive to be able to work from home. Because the financial institution uses BankOnIT’s
Management Agent, the USB thumb drive is blocked, management receives
e-mail notification about the incident, and the event is documented, ensuring
